information design

Effective information design makes complex messages easy to understand. It is a combination of simple language, logical sequence, clear structure and good design.

Mission

NatWest mortgages department wanted to eliminate duplication of information gathering and reduce the number of forms they used to make their systems more efficient.

I combined plain language and simple questions with plenty of answer space. This uncluttered design improved the way their
forms worked for them and their customers.

Mission

Barclays business department needed to ensure their forms reduced processing costs without delaying their customers' needs.

By simplifying the language, using concise questions I combined these with a clear layout design which resulted in their forms being completed more accurately.

Fewer forms resulted in fewer

errors and customer waiting time was reduced.

Mission

I was commissioned by the Reading Symphony Orchestra to design a programme and accompanying flyers to advertise their Russian season of music . . . structured typography and a constructivist
style of illustration met their brief.

Mission

Four new artists came together

to form their own exhibition. They asked me for an unusual,

eye-catching advertising poster

that wouldn't deflect from showing their styles of work.
